Last night, Tom Felton took centre stage as he made his highly-anticipated Broadway debut in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at New York’s Lyric Theatre. Returning to the role he played in all eight of the original Harry Potter films, the moment he and his brilliant blond wig appeared as Draco Malfoy, the theatre erupted with the sounds of thunderous cheering and applause.

As the first actor from the Harry Potter films to reprise their role, we can only imagine how momentous this must all feel for Tom. For example, did you know that he is now the exact age that Draco Malfoy is in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child? His return couldn’t have been more perfect!

Though this was his first performance in front of an audience, this was not the start of his Cursed Child journey. When rehearsals began, he was kind enough to share some of his thoughts exclusively with us. See for yourself…

Okay, hearing that it was almost exactly 25 years between Tom's first Philosopher’s Stone and Cursed Child table reads has given us chills. Not to be all Trelawney about it... but it’s things like that which make us wonder if fate is real.

So how easy was it to pick up the role of Harry’s Hogwarts nemesis once more?

Don’t worry Tom! We have every faith that you will know which is your wand hand before you dazzle us with your opening night performance.

Speaking of wands, from Accio to Alohomora there’s an incantation for nearly everything – we wonder which one Tom enjoyed casting the most?

We did not expect Tom's favourite to be Harry Potter’s signature spell! You learn something new every day.

Although he might be famous for playing a character that was, quite frankly, a snob, Tom is anything but…

Tom might not be able to believe how lucky he is… but we can. There’s a reason his version of Draco Malfoy is legendary, and it has a lot to do with his talent and his ability to bring such a complex character to life.

Remember to stay tuned, as we will have all the lowdown and sneak peeks from Tom’s first performance.
