## Everything you need to know from the first trailer

### Revelio premiere date!
First things first, we’re sure you have all been desperate to know when you could return to Hogwarts, so we’re extremely pleased to reveal that you are in for a very happy (and magical) Christmas indeed! Yes! The first episode of this brand-new series will be coming to screens this year.

### What the first season will be called
The premiere date wasn’t the only revelation from this first teaser, the eagle-eyed among you will have spotted that the official name of the first season was also shared… *Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone*.

### Inside Privet Drive
The trailer opens with a shot of the Dursley home, pristine and perfectly decorated with its ghastly wallpaper and the equally ghastly Uncle Vernon sat at the kitchen table.

Then there’s the heartbreaking moment of Harry crying in his cupboard-under-the-stairs. What is possibly even more devastating is that he has tried to make this space more homely with pictures and drawings – did you spot the flying motorbike?

All of this perfectly sets the scene of Harry’s horrid childhood… but there’s more. We can confirm that never-before-seen moments from the stories will be brought to life on screen for the first time.

### Muggle school
Starting with Harry’s time at Muggle school. In the books, Harry mentions how he was tormented by his odious cousin Dudley and his motley crew – including recalling an incident that saw him inexplicably end up on the school roof during an escape attempt. A mere mention in the story, that torment has now been expanded and visualised with the teaser sharing a glimpse of Harry in his ill-fitting uniform being chased and cornered by this bunch of bullies.

### That haircut
Aunt Petunia’s hatred of mess extended to Harry’s unruly hair and resulted in a particularly terrible haircut for the Boy-Who-Lived. Once again, this was a tiny moment in the books. A memory of Harry’s where his aunt’s battle against his hair proved fruitless thanks to it growing back overnight. With kitchen scissors, anger and a pile of hair on the Dursleys’ floor, it has also had the on-screen treatment.

### The London Underground
It’s not just the uglier parts of Harry’s story that fans will finally get to see but some of the more heartwarming moments too – such as Harry and Hagrid on the Tube together. This scene also shows the emotional direction of this series. Love has always been at the centre of Harry Potter, and this is perfectly demonstrated in the touching and vulnerable way Hagrid talks about James and Lily Potter. We hope you’ve got some tissues close by, you’re going to need them!

### We truly are in the 1990s 
As we all know, the Harry Potter stories are set in the 1990s with Harry discovering his true wizarding identity in 1991. As a faithful adaptation of the books, from the outfit choices and hairstyles of the Muggles on the London Underground, to Mrs Weasley’s ensemble making her the epitome of the 90s mum and not forgetting Aunt Petunia’s enormous glasses, this new Harry Potter television show is packed with 90s nostalgia.

### Walking into Hogwarts for the first time
Although he was forced to spend many miserable years with the Dursleys, it was Hogwarts that was always Harry's true home. Reimagined for the television series, the trailer provided an exciting first look at some of the magical details of our favourite wizarding school. Did you see the grand Entrance Hall with intricately carved doors and sweeping staircase? Recognise Professor Sprout’s light and airy greenhouse complete with magical foliage? Spot the Gryffindor common room with its squashy chairs? That’s just the tip of the iceberg, there will be far more to explore in the upcoming months.

### The new house heraldry
It also wouldn’t be Hogwarts without the Hogwarts houses! The house heraldry has had a makeover. While the colours and mascots remain the same, if you look carefully, you’ll spot the new emblems hanging in the Entrance Hall and displayed on the Quidditch robes.

### School robes
Speaking of robes, the Hogwarts uniforms have been revealed too! The students still have their traditional black robes as described in the books. The show is also going down the route of school uniforms with distinguishable details for each house – like the colour of the students’ ties. However, the most noticeable change is the Hogwarts crest, which is a simple, striking ‘H’ rather than a coat of arms.

### The Sorting Hat reimagined
An iconic Hogwarts artefact was shown in the trailer – the Sorting Hat. In the first book, it is described as a patched and frayed pointed wizard’s hat with a rip near the brim like a mouth – it’s safe to say that this is yet another example of how the television show is remaining faithful to the stories.

### The wand chooses the wizard
The Sorting Hat wasn’t the only important object highlighted in the trailer. We also got see the moment Harry’s wand was placed into his hand. Straightforward but with a hint of detailing around the handle, it suits the boy wizard well.

### Quidditch!
There were plenty of Quidditch moments to get excited about! The costume and art department have pulled out all the stops when it comes to this wizarding pastime. The striking black and red box for Harry’s new Nimbus 2000. The Quidditch uniforms with cloaks embroidered with their names and numbers. The design of the brooms themselves with their fanned-out bristles – it’s ramshackle whimsy at its finest.

### A festive snowball fight
With time to explore the smaller moments of the book, the trailer showed us yet another that has never been imagined on screen before – the Christmas snowball fight! If Hagrid’s snow angel doesn’t capture the joy of the stories, we don’t know what does.

### All the characters you see
We are also extremely excited to share a first look at some familiar characters from the wizarding world. In this trailer alone, there was Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Albus Dumbledore, Rubeus Hagrid, Minerva McGonagall, Severus Snape, the Dursleys, Molly Weasley, Garrick Ollivander, Draco Malfoy, Vincent Crabbe, Gregory Goyle and Pansy Parkinson. Did you spot them all?

### The tiny details
Throughout the teaser, there are shots where you can truly see all the care and attention that has gone into this brand-new depiction of the Harry Potter stories. The new designs for the wizarding sweets such as Bertie Bott’s Every-Flavour Beans. Dumbledore’s famous half-moon spectacles. There’s even that smudge of dirt of Ron Weasley’s nose. Every single moment has been carefully thought about, evoking a world so convincing you feel as though you could reach through the screen and touch it.

### That’s not all…
There is still so much more to come – such as the spectacular new score by Hans Zimmer which is yet to be heard. Stay tuned over the coming months as more magic is set to be revealed.

## Bravely joining Gryffindor

__Orson Matthews__ has joined the cast as the proud and enthusiastic Gryffindor Quidditch team captain, Oliver Wood. He is joined by fellow team members, __Asha Soetan__ as Angelina Johnson, __Eire Farrell__ as Katie Bell and __Serrana Su-Ling Bliss__ as Alicia Spinnet. 

Also joining this courageous house is __Ethan Smith__ as the Weasley twins’ best friend (and hilarious Quidditch commentator), Lee Jordan.

## Loyally joining Hufflepuff

The Hufflepuff common room is filling up fast! __India Moon__ is set to play Hannah Abbott. She is joined by __James Trevelyan Buckle__ as Justin Finch-Fletchley – the Muggle-born originally destined for Eton. __Cian Eagle-Service__ is Ernie MacMillan and __Jazmyn Lewin__ plays Susan Bones.

## Wisely joining Ravenclaw

__Anjula Murali__ is joining the cast as Padma Patil, the twin sister of Gryffindor, Parvati Patil. __Aaron Zhao__ is also joining as Ravenclaw member of Harry’s year group, Terry Boot. While __Scarlett Archer__ is set to play Penelope Clearwater and __Eve Walls__ joins as Lisa Turpin. 

## Ambitiously joining Slytherin

He is joined by Slytherin Chasers __D’Angelou Osei-Kissiedu__ as Graham Montague and __Dylan Heath__ as Adrian Pucey. __Cornelius Brandreth__ plays Seeker, Terence Higgs. While __Eddison Burch__ has been cast as Keeper, Miles Bletchley. __James Dowell__ is Lucian Bole and __Henry Medhurst__ is Peregrine Derrick, the team Beaters.

Finally, __Laila Barwick__ plays friend of Draco Malfoy, Pansy Parkinson.

Bloomsbury’s Children Books excitingly revealed the spectacular new cover for the sixth Harry Potter story. Without further ado, here is that magical new cover…

The swirling fire. The Inferi crawling towards Harry and Dumbledore. The pair standing together with their wands raised. Every single detail of Levi’s artwork, right down to the eerie green colour palette, captures the high stakes and intensity of *Half-Blood Prince* perfectly.

This is merely a taste of what is yet to come. Publishing globally 6th October, from the Dursleys’ home in Privet Drive to the top of the Astronomy Tower, Levi has used his exceptional skills to bring Harry’s journey to life. His sweeping landscapes and attention to every detail has evoked a world so convincing that you feel as though you could almost reach out and touch it – fans of all ages are sure to be enchanted.

Firstly, we have this haunting portrait of Harry that brilliantly portrays the pressure that comes with having the weight of the wizarding world on his shoulders. Plus, what is that reflected in his glasses? Could it be contributing to his worried expression?

From the dark colours to the gloomy industrial vibe, Levi has brought Spinner's End to life in all of its grim glory. In a genius touch, look closely at the two cloaked figures and you'll be able to identify Narcissa and Bellatrix just by the flyaway tendrils of their hair.

Set against the bleak snowy backdrop with Hogwarts looming on the horizon, the horror of Katie Bell and the cursed opal necklace leaps off the page. You can almost feel the desperation of her friend Leanne reaching out towards her as she rises into the air.

Last but by no means least, we have Harry and Dumbledore illuminated once again by an eerie glow as they confront the evil that lurks within the infamous cave.

Taking up the mantle from Jim Kay, who stepped down after illustrating the first five books in this worldwide publishing phenomenon, the sixth and seventh stories are clearly in safe hands with Levi. Already familiar with the wizarding world, having worked on both the Hogwarts house-themed editions of the Harry Potter books and *The Harry Potter Wizarding Almanac*, he’s perfect to continue the journey of this series which has sold almost one million copies and been translated into 38 languages worldwide.

We can’t wait to see more of Levi’s artwork as he combines his illustrative style with the wonder of the wizarding world.

Joining Harry Potter Shop King’s Cross as the UK’s only official Harry Potter retail destinations, this spellbinding shop is opening in a truly iconic British shopping location – Oxford Street! 

Yes, covering 21,000 sq ft. and spread over two floors this flagship shop, located at The Ribbon, 134-140 Oxford Street, will be bursting with all sorts of wonderful wizarding goodies.

Aptly named First Year at Hogwarts, this feature will showcase iconic moments, displays and props from the first film that will allow you to feel just as Harry did when he first walked the halls of Hogwarts.

Before the Studio Tour even starts, fans will have the opportunity to remember the moment where Harry Potter discovers his Hogwarts house as Professor McGonagall places the Sorting Hat upon his head.

In the Great Hall, Gryffindor banners will hang proudly above the long tables, and a flurry of floating hats will be suspended from the ceiling as if thrown by students in celebration, visitors will find themselves immersed in the joyful atmosphere of a first-year End of Term Feast. A perfect opportunity to celebrate the moment where Gryffindor secured the House Cup – breaking Slytherin’s six-year winning streak!

The Gryffindor Common Room will undergo a transformation too, displaying the iconic scene in *Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone* where Hermione Granger proved how (in the words of Ron Weasley) brilliant-but-scary she was when she cast Petrificus Totalus on Neville Longbottom.

The Quidditch fans among you will be delighted as filmmaking secrets will be revealed about this wizarding sport. Not only will you learn how flying lessons and Quidditch matches were filmed, but you’ll also get to see the original Quidditch polearm rig and learn the techniques used that set the standard for Quidditch throughout the film series.

It’s not just the visuals that make a Harry Potter film but the sounds too. Out in the Backlot Stage, a brand-new show, Secrets of Sound Effects, will make its debut. This audiovisual experience will reveal behind-the-scenes secrets about art of Foley and how sound effects are used to bring the world of Harry Potter to life.

One of the stars of the first Harry Potter film had to be Fluffy! Hagrid’s three-headed dog that he brought from a man in a pub certainly made a *huge* impression. With Fluffy’s paw mould, bought back to life by some of the original Creature Effects Department, accompanied by the original self-playing harp that lulled the dog to sleep, this summer feature will allow you to learn more about the furry obstacle that protected the Philosopher’s Stone.

As we’re talking about obstacles, we have to mention Ron’s epic game of wizard chess that saw him take on the giant pieces and win! Visitors will be able to relive that moment with a photo opportunity and display that features moving chess pieces, as well as the original Knight that Ron sacrificed himself on.

## Celebrate Butterbeer season with events around the world 

Butterbeer Season is not just about whimsical products – there are plenty of ways it will be bringing the magic to fans.

Starting with the return of the touring Butterbeer Trucks that will be hitting the road once again as the deliver Butterbeer to fans. That’s just the tip of the Harry Potter-themed iceberg. There will be pop-up activities, themed in game celebrations and activities in Zynga’s Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells and Jam City’s Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, special in store moments and limited time offerings at official Harry Potter locations worldwide.

Butterbeer Season celebrations will be in full swing at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter with plenty for fans to get involved with. 

Starting off with their Butterbeer Bar where Hot Butterbeer will be available for the first time ever. There will be plenty of other delicious delights making their debut too including Butterbeer Fudge and Butterbeer Bundt Cake. If that’s not enough, Butterbeer Pancakes, Butterbeer Lattes and Butterbeer Cake will also be available for purchase.

Fans will also have the opportunity to win some magical prizes as the Studio Tour are hosting a Butterbeer Competition. One lucky winner will receive two tickets to the Studio Tour and a Butterbeer feast. Two Runners-up will each receive a Butterbeer bundle from the Harry Potter Shop. The fan-favourite Butterbeer Cream Puff will also return to Universal Studios Hollywood, while Universal Orlando will introduce limited-time treats including a new Butterbeer Cupcake, Butterbeer Cookie Sandwich, Butterbeer Candy Apple and Butterbeer Shortbread Bar available exclusively at Honeydukes in Hogsmeade and Sugarplum’s Sweet Shop in Diagon Alley, plus a Biéraubeurre (Butterbeer) Crème Brûlée available at Café L’air de la Siréne in the Ministry of Magic.  

Butterbeer Season will also mark the debut of Butterbeer-flavoured truffles and macarons at Universal Orlando, which will be offered year-round at the K. Rammelle confectionary shop in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic at Universal Epic Universe.

Fans can also enjoy a collectible combo featuring a themed mug and seven Butterbeer truffles. Products launch in March, online and across more than 5,000 Cacau Show stores nationwide.

Riachuelo will be encouraging to wear their love of Butterbeer with pride as they introduce a Butterbeer inspired collection featuring six coordinated items, available online and at FanLab beginning March 2026. The Butterbeer celebrations truly are a global event. Over at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Beijing Resort, fans can enjoy the specialty Butterbeer Cream Puff for a limited time to get in the spirit of Butterbeer Season as they explore The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade. Whether it was Luna Lovegood’s whimsical party dress that was designed to resemble a Christmas tree or how the colours of Lord Voldemort’s malevolent robes were hints about the seven Horcruxes, costumes played a vital role in telling the Harry Potter stories on screen. 

Now fans can discover the magic of costume creation at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter this March and April.

With only 30 guests per session, this 45-minute exclusive workshop will reveal the secret world of costume design and how the choice of fabrics, colour and fit played a vital role in creating some of your favourite characters.

Exploring some of the wizarding world’s most iconic costumes, you will be able to witness the evolving styles of Hogwarts uniforms, gaze upon Cedric Diggory’s Triwizard robes and marvel at Hagrid’s oversized attire.

Led by experts, these sessions will also include behind-the-scenes pieces and subtle design details rarely seen by the public. Secrets will be revealed such as the surprising colour of Severus Snape’s costume, the hidden meaning in Narcissa Malfoy’s coat and how Sirius Black’s distinctive coat foreshadowed his Animagus form. That’s just the tip of the iceberg!

With 2026 marking the 25th anniversary of *Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone*, the workshop will also be taking fans back to where the magic began, showcasing the costume that Harry Potter was wearing the very first time we met him.

Not only will you leave with a newfound knowledge of the art of storytelling through costume, but you will also take home a commemorative Mastering the Magic collectable pin badge.

Plus, after the workshop, fans will be led into the Great Hall to start their full Studio Tour experience – exploring the sets and filmmaking secrets that helped to create the wonder of the wizarding world in all eight Harry Potter films.

A huge Harry Potter fan, who believes she would do well in either Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw, she has always enjoyed escaping to Hogwarts: ‘I love Harry Potter for the childhood it gave me. It brought colour and brightness into my world.’ You may recognise Olia's anarchic and fun style, she is the illustrator of the *Ron Weasley* Pocket Potter!

As Producers Sonia Friedman Productions, Colin Callender and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions revealed, the magic is set to continue on stage with the record-breaking show telling the entire eighth story in a single performance with one interval and a run time of 2 hours and 55 minutes. 

As *Cursed Child* enters its second decade in the West End, this evolution marks an exciting new chapter. One which is more accessible to Harry Potter fans, allowing even more audiences to take in the wonder of the wizarding world with just one ticket and one trip to the theatre.

With companies around the globe already having moved to this dynamic format, such as the Broadway production in New York City, which is breaking all major box-office records, we’re excited to see how this new adventure is set to unfold.

## Rewatch where it all began

Over the Back to Hogwarts period, the sounds of ‘Yer a wizard, Harry’ will be ringing out in screens around the world as *Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone / Sorcerer’s Stone* will make a return to the silver screen, with a special treat for fans – 10 minutes of behind-the-scenes content never before seen in theatres.

The film will show on screens across North America, EMEA, LATAM and APAC between 27th August and 3rd September (timings vary by location).

## Shared Reality Experience

This spring, Harry Potter fans will be able to experience the magic of *Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone/Sorcerer's Stone* in Shared Reality at Cosm.

## A global celebration 

Around the world, the anniversary celebrations continue, with Harry Potter destinations offering fans a smorgasbord of surprising and spellbinding moments throughout the year. 

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – the Making of Harry Potter will be celebrating the first film with their new summer feature. From 7th May until 7th September, fans can discover the wizarding artefacts they were introduced to in the first film, from the mystifying Philosopher’s Stone, to the iconic Golden Snitch. This special feature will reveal how each magical prop was carefully crafted for filming, as well as showcase the instantly recognisable sets, reveal behind-the-scenes facts and clever secrets that made the film so iconic.
