What is Harry Potter Book Day?
Harry Potter Book Day is a chance for fans around the globe to celebrate J.K. Rowling’s iconic series with events, parties and other festivities. Bloomsbury creates a special free, downloadable event kit, jam-packed with decoration, costume, activity and game ideas! You can use the event kit or create your own magical activities for the day.
Who can take part?
Everyone! Whether you are a bookshop, library, school or group of friends who want to celebrate. The event kit has activities for readers of all ages, and is suitable for lifelong superfans to young readers just beginning their Harry Potter journey. The kit also includes special activities and guidance for schools.
What’s the theme?
CARE OF MAGICAL CREATURES is the theme for this year’s celebrations. The wizarding world is full of magical creatures from majestic Hippogriffs, unicorns and dragons to the light-fingered Niffler and venomous Doxy, also known as the biting fairy (one to avoid!). Our event kit will be full of exciting activities featuring a magical menagerie of fantastic beasts in all their shapes and sizes.
