Before we preheat those ovens, feast your eyes on the first look at Wizards of Baking season three, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the first film with a Hogwarts house tournament like no other. Take it away, James and Oliver…
Where to watch season three
Mark your calendars and prepare your snacks… Season three begins with an epic two-hour premiere on Wednesday, 4th November at 8 pm ET/PT on Food Network and HBO Max in the US. The show will be available globally with international premiere dates and times to be announced: keep your eyes peeled here for more information about how to watch where you are!
Contestants will compete for house glory
In a new tournament twist for this season, four teams of three contestants will represent each of the Hogwarts houses, battling against each other... Through the medium of cake. Could Slytherin sieve their way to victory? Or can Ravenclaw rise above the competition? You’ll have to watch to find out.
Meet the new ‘Ministers of Baking’

With more bakers on each team, the expectations have never been higher. Enter a new pair of discerning judges. Cake royalty Duff Goldman and celebrated pastry chef Sarah Mountain (aka the ‘Ministers of Baking’) will be casting their expert eyes over the contestants’ confectionary creations this year… And they expect the teams to surprise them with showpieces beyond anything we’ve seen in previous seasons. If that wasn’t enough, iconic Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto will join as a guest judge for the delectable Dark Arts-themed week. No pressure, then.
Celebrating 25 years of movie magic
With the first Harry Potter film turning 25 this year, get ready to go back to where Harry’s on-screen journey began. The premiere will kick off to a flying start, with teams challenged to create confections inspired by ‘Memorable Firsts’ from the Philosopher’s Stone film in the setting of the legendary Quidditch pitch (where Harry almost swallowed his first Snitch. Precious memories). From there, the contestants will sift through challenges inspired by wizarding themes including the Dark Arts, the Weasleys, the Chamber of Secrets and the ever-present battle of good vs. evil. We cannot wait.
Journey through fantastic film locations
Throughout the seven-episode season, prepare to fly from the Quidditch pitch to the Burrow, the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom, Ollivanders, Hagrid’s hut, the Chamber of Secrets, the Hogwarts courtyard and the Ministry of Magic as the bakers create edible magic against the backdrop of the original film sets. No broom required!
An all-star line-up of brilliant bakers

Do this year’s contestants look familiar to you? That’s because the teams will be made up of returning competitors. These talented cake artists, bakers and pastry chefs have conjured up magical Harry Potter bakes in previous seasons, though none has ever lifted the Wizards of Baking Cup… yet.
