We know you’ve always wanted to do your Hogwarts house proud, so it’s time to put yourself to the test with this new ultimate Wizarding World challenge. Pottermore Publishing have been working with Audible to launch the Official Harry Potter Quiz Alexa Skill, and it’s available on all Alexa-enabled devices now.
The quiz uses excerpts from the Harry Potter audiobooks as the basis for the questions, which are voiced by Imogen Church (who you might be familiar with from the additional material in the Quidditch Through the Ages audiobook) in the UK, and Laurel Lefkow in the US.
To get things started, simply say, ‘Alexa, play Harry Potter quiz’ to any Alexa-enabled device, including the Echo, Echo Show, Echo Dot and Echo Spot. If you don’t have an Echo device, don’t worry, just download the free Alexa app to your phone and you can open the Skill from there!
Players will get the chance to choose their Hogwarts house (be honest!), choose a magical object as an avatar – there are six to choose from so that multiple people from the same household can play – select your difficulty level and off you go.
Every day, you’ll be asked three questions in a sequence, which requires listening to an excerpt from the audiobooks. If you answer correctly, you win points for your house (deeply important, obviously), and if you get all three right, you’ll get a bonus question. Come back the following day and there’ll be three new questions for you to answer. Yes, every day is a new challenge.
Of course, in order to make sure that your house is in the lead, you’ll want to brush up on your Wizarding World knowledge as much as humanly possible. So, you can always listen to the audiobooks on Audible (simply ask Alexa to ‘Read Harry Potter’), just to make double-sure your house emerges victorious.
Let the wizarding quizzing commence.
