From the Burrow to Broadway…

Nearly two decades since he last played the red-headed hero and one third of the golden trio on screen, Rupert Grint is returning to Hogwarts to embody the grown-up version of the one-and-only Ron Weasley… this time on stage. We haven’t been this excited since the Chudley Cannons last won a match!

For 17 weeks only, you can catch Rupert returning to his Weasley roots in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child from 2nd February – 30th May 2027 at New York’s Lyric Theatre.

To get your ticket, you can sign up with the Cursed Child website, which will unlock entry to the pre-sale on Tuesday, 1st September at 11am ET. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, 2nd September at 11am ET.

With the play set 19 years after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Rupert reflects on the “full-circle” experience of playing Ron as a child and now as a father.

“Ron Weasley has been a part of me since I was 11 years old and I can’t wait to meet him again in this stage of life. There is something so full-circle and so special about stepping back into Ron’s shoes now when we are both fathers; it is somehow both very familiar and completely new.

And the joy of being back on Broadway, this time in a role that defined so much of my life is truly exciting. The first time I saw Cursed Child onstage, I was blown away and I can’t wait to set foot back on platform 9 ¾ and pick up where I left off. I am overjoyed to join this exceptional cast and crew at the Lyric Theatre this winter.”

His return creates a powerful bridge between the story audiences first fell in love with and the story of family, legacy and the passage of time that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child carries forward.”
