Today, we can officially confirm the peskiest Poltergeist to float through the halls of Hogwarts has been found! Peter Serafinowicz has been officially cast as Peeves in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

Peter Serafinowicz, the actor and comedian known for his roles in everything from How to Train Your Dragon to The Peter Serafinowicz Show, has officially signed up to play one of the Harry Potter stories’ naughtiest characters, Peeves.

Known for causing all sorts of pandemonium, like dropping walking sticks on Neville’s head or hiding in a suit of armour and singing rude songs, this will be the first time that this fan-favourite character will appear on screen!

It’s not too long until we get to see this agent of chaos unleashed... as the series will debut Christmas 2026 on HBO and will be available to stream exclusively on HBO Max where it’s available, including recent launch markets Germany, Italy, and the UK & Ireland.
