## The Leaky Cauldron is the oldest pub in London

Despite what many [Muggles](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/muggles) think, the title of oldest pub in London goes to this well-loved wizarding establishment. Found on Charing Cross Road, the [Leaky Cauldron](/fact-file/locations/the-leaky-cauldron) was built in the 1500s – long before Charing Cross Road was even planned! Its true address is number one, [Diagon Alley](/fact-file/locations/diagon-alley).

## Muggles used to frequent the Leaky Cauldron

This wizarding institution wasn’t always a place that where only magical folk congregated. As it was built two centuries before the imposition of the International Statute of Secrecy, it was initially visible to Muggle eyes too. Muggles weren’t made to feel unwelcome or turned away. Having said that, thanks to the *interesting* conversations and even more *interesting* magical pets, many scarpered before finishing their mead.

## Neville Longbottom and Hannah Abbott lived above the Leaky Cauldron

In a turn of events that we find extremely adorable, after leaving [Hogwarts](/fact-file/locations/hogwarts) not only did [Neville](/fact-file/characters-and-pets/neville-longbottom) continue his passion for magical plants as [Herbology](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/herbology) professor, but he also married [Hufflepuff](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/hufflepuff), [Hannah Abbott](/fact-file/characters-and-pets/hannah-abbott-fact-file). The happy couple decided to make a home for themselves living above the one-and-only Leaky Cauldron.

## A pub was the headquarters of a rebellion

Although we never learnt which one it was, according to *Sites of Historical Sorcery*, one of the wizarding pubs in [Hogsmeade](/fact-file/locations/hogsmeade) was said to have been the headquarters of the 1612 [goblin](/fact-file/creatures/goblin) rebellion. Could it have been the [Hog’s Head Inn](/fact-file/locations/the-hogs-head) which was known for its dubious dealings and schemes? Or perhaps it was the cosiness of the [Three Broomsticks](/fact-file/locations/the-three-broomsticks) that convinced the goblins to make it their base?

## The Hog’s Head Inn was run by a Dumbledore

While [Albus Dumbledore](/fact-file/characters-and-pets/albus-dumbledore) ran Hogwarts, just down the road his brother, [Aberforth Dumbledore](/fact-file/characters-and-pets/aberforth-dumbledore-fact-file), ran the Hog’s Head Inn. Crochety and a big fan of goats, he and his brother didn’t always see eye-to-eye. Ultimately, they were both extremely good people and Aberforth even helped the resistance at Hogwarts after Albus’ death – thanks to a secret passage that connected the [Room of Requirement](/fact-file/locations/the-room-of-requirement) to his pub.

## Sybill Trelawney made her infamous prediction at the Hog’s Head Inn

The Hog’s Head Inn was the location of many crucial story moments from the founding of [Dumbledore’s Army](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/dumbledores-army) to [Hagrid](/fact-file/characters-and-pets/rubeus-hagrid) winning a dragon egg in a game of cards. However, there was one particular moment that changed the course of wizarding history forever. On a gloomy night, Albus Dumbledore went to interview [Sybill Trelawney](/fact-file/characters-and-pets/sybill-trelawney) for the role of [Divination](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/divination) teacher. He was thoroughly unimpressed until, among the ramshackle décor and sticky floor, she made her prediction about the boy destined to end [Voldemort](/fact-file/characters-and-pets/lord-voldemort) and rid the world of his evil!

## Katie Bell was given the cursed opal necklace at The Three Broomsticks

Run by Madam Rosmerta, the Three Broomsticks was a warm and welcoming establishment in Hogsmeade. Yet Dark Magic still managed to worm its way in there in the form of the cursed opal necklace. Part of a clumsy attempt on Dumbledore’s life, [Gryffindor](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/gryffindor) Quidditch team member, [Katie Bell](/fact-file/characters-and-pets/katie-bell), took the necklace from the pub while under the influence of the [Imperius Curse](/fact-file/spells/the-imperius-curse) and narrowly escaped its deadly power.

## It wasn’t just witches and wizards who frequented the Three Broomsticks

Said to be as old as the only all-wizard village in Britain, the Three Broomsticks was a bit of a haven for all sorts of magical beings, such as hags, who couldn’t disguise themselves particularly well in the Muggle world. In fact, Ron and Hermione once thought they spotted an ogre!

In Harry Potter’s world, there’s Divination, Astronomy and prophecies – all used to make sense of the mysteries of the universe and the great beyond. But what about astrology? We know Professor Trelawney did touch upon it, but do any of our favourite characters happen to display personality traits that are unique to their star sign?

Well, we thought it would be fun to find out! As it is Cancer season, we’re looking at Harry’s number one fan, Dobby. Of course, any similarities may be a total coincidence. We’ll leave that up to you to decide. Why not share this with your Cancerian friends and see what they think?

## Loyal
Loyalty is a trait closely tied to the Cancer star sign. If you want a friend that you know will stick by you no matter what (even when you might not *technically* be right) then you can’t go wrong with this water sign. They are the epitome of ride or die and we think that there is one particular [house-elf](/fact-file/creatures/house-elf) who shares this trait. 

In fact, if you were to look up the definition of loyalty, you would find a picture of [Dobby](/fact-file/characters-and-pets/dobby) staring back at you. He was devoted to Harry before he even met him! And that’s just one example of this house-elf’s dependability – there are so many we could choose from. His loyalty to [Dumbledore](/fact-file/characters-and-pets/albus-dumbledore) (he staunchly refused to call him a barmy old codger despite having permission from the man himself), his loyalty to Hogwarts and (possibly one of our favourite examples) his loyalty to fellow house-elf Winky. He got her a new home, job and stood by her even when she pushed him away. Dobby was a rock.

## Caregiver 
Out of all the star signs, Cancerians are known for being the providers and nurturers of the zodiac. They’re the friend that will always bring you hot soup when you’re feeling under the weather, the one you can call at three in the morning for a chat and the only person you know who can keep that house plant alive. Nobody cares as fiercely as they do.

We think this is another personality trait that Dobby exemplified – even if his actions were often somewhat misguided. He *always* wanted to ensure that [Harry](/fact-file/characters-and-pets/harry-potter) was alive, safe and preferably wearing an excellent pair of homemade socks. So what if some of his more *enthusiastic* attempts at looking after Harry went unappreciated (in all fairness Harry really could have done without that rogue [Bludger](/fact-file/objects/bludger)). Dobby’s heart was in the right place, and he was one of the most caring characters in the wizarding world.

## Homebody
Fancy a raucous night out on the town? Well, we wouldn’t recommend asking your Cancerian friends. They are the people most likely to be celebrating rather than commiserating when plans get cancelled at the last minute. In fact, they are the consummate homebodies with a real talent for turning their personal space into an oasis with perfect Hygge vibes.

Even after Dobby became a free elf, he was always doing his utmost to make things homely – whether that was putting up Christmas decorations in the [Room of Requirement](/fact-file/locations/the-room-of-requirement) (with a stunning Harry theme), knitting pairs of odd socks, or even painting portraits that were, quite frankly, masterpieces. Dobby always had a wholesome activity on the go… just like his fellow Cancerians.

## Unafraid to take action
Cancer is the cardinal water sign. Like the other cardinal signs in the zodiac, this means that they dream big but crucially they get things done with their decisive actions. But how does this apply to our favourite house-elf? We’ll happily tell you.

Dobby was not afraid to come up with a grand scheme or two – *Chamber of Secrets* was littered with Dobby’s big plans to keep Harry safe. Whether that was using a Hover Charm to drop a mountain of cream and sugared violets in the Dursleys’ living room or sealing off [platform nine and three-quarters](/fact-file/locations/platform-nine-and-three-quarters) so Harry and Ron missed the [Hogwarts Express](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/hogwarts-express), this was one house-elf that could think of an idea faster than a speeding Firebolt… Whether they were all good ideas, well, nobody’s perfect.

## Intense
Dobby? Intense? The jovial house-elf with an unrivalled enthusiasm for socks? Yep, that’s the one. This was a being who felt things deeply – a personality quirk you might have noticed amongst your other Cancerian friends, thanks to their strong connection to their emotions. On occasion that intensity can be overwhelming, but it mainly stems from a place of care. 

Dobby’s feelings towards those he loved were powerful and his emotional depth certainly exceeded that of a teaspoon. He bravely looked danger in the eye if it meant he could protect his friends – sneaking away from his masters to warn Harry of danger despite the threat of painful punishment, shielding Harry from the wrath of [Lucius Malfoy](/fact-file/characters-and-pets/lucius-malfoy) when Dobby was freed, rescuing his friends from the horrors of [Malfoy Manor](/fact-file/locations/malfoy-manor)… we could go on and on.

Ultimately, Dobby loved with a ferocity that could barely be rivalled and the intensity of his feelings meant that he was even willing to lay down his life for those he loved. Without that passion? Well, we can’t say for certain, but Harry, Ron and Hermione’s story could have looked very different indeed.

Exams play an important part in the wizarding world – that’s a fact. Right from the beginning of your Hogwarts school career, you will come across tricky tests. At their most basic level, they help to gauge the progress a student is making. Can you successfully cast [*Expelliarmus*](/fact-file/spells/the-disarming-charm) before being hit with a Jelly-Legs Jinx? Can you turn a hedgehog into a pin cushion that doesn’t squeak? And can you brew a potion that works and isn’t just a cauldron full of poison (unless that was your intention)?

However, not all exams carry the same importance. [O.W.L.s](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/o-w-l-s) and [N.E.W.T.s](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/n-e-w-t-s) carry much more weight than end of year exams. Those could even be cancelled on special occasions – like the time Harry defeated the Basilisk and rescued Ginny from the Chamber of Secrets (much to the dismay of a certain Miss Granger). O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s can determine the future path you’ll take – from the subjects you’ll study in greater detail to your future career. 

Hermione certainly understood the weight that these exams held. She spent what should have been her seventh year at Hogwarts chasing down [Horcruxes](/fact-file/objects/horcrux) and helping to defeat one of the Darkest wizards of all time. If anyone deserved a break, it was Hermione. Instead, she decided to jump straight back into her seventh – and trickiest – year at Hogwarts and get those N.E.W.T. exams done. 

It worked out well for her. Despite telling Minister for Magic, Rufus Scrimgeour, that no, she didn’t want to follow a career in Magical Law because she was ‘hoping to do some good in the world’, she did in fact join the Ministry of Magic. She used that brilliant brain to work her way up to the top and became a brilliant Minister for Magic. Would she have been able to achieve such a role without completing her education? We doubt it.

It’s not just the top job that needs specific qualifications. Plenty of other Ministry roles require them too. For example, [Auror](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/auror) applications are only considered if the candidate has at least five N.E.W.T.s (with grades of either Outstanding or Exceeds Expectations) in the necessary subjects. And that’s before mentioning the training and tests you have to undergo once you’re accepted! Tonks Metamorphmagus abilities might have earnt her top marks in Concealment and Disguise but her habit of tripping over her own feet meant she nearly failed her Stealth and Tracking. 

Even those who aren’t destined for a career in the [Ministry of Magic](/fact-file/locations/the-ministry-of-magic) can’t discount the importance of exams. Those who feel drawn to caring for people with magical maladies and injuries as a Healer will need at least five Exceeds Expectations at N.E.W.T. level. Or if you wanted to become a daring Curse-Breaker at [Gringotts](/fact-file/locations/gringotts) (like a certain Bill Weasley), you must have a N.E.W.T. in one of the toughest subjects Hogwarts has to offer, Arithmancy.

Despite the fact that we’ve just talked at length about how crucial exams are… they’re not the be all and end all. Don’t underestimate the importance of life experience! Neither Harry or Ron went back to Hogwarts after they defeated Voldemort and never got their N.E.W.T.s. Yet, they both walked into jobs as Aurors at the Ministry of Magic. The pair of them weren’t traditionally qualified – but if being instrumental in the downfall of Voldemort doesn’t count as relevant life experience, we don’t know what does. 

Although Ron was only an Auror briefly (he probably had enough Dark wizard fighting to last a lifetime) and went to join George at [Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes](/fact-file/locations/weasleys-wizard-wheezes), Harry remained and became the Head of Magical Law Enforcement. Not bad for someone who didn’t finish school!

Speaking of not finishing school, Fred and George are the perfect example to prove exams aren’t the only thing required to be successful. When they dramatically left Hogwarts on the back of their brooms, leaving nothing but chaos and a Portable Swamp behind, many thought their future was uncertain… we imagine Mrs Weasley was beside herself.

She needn’t have worried. Fred and George had an unrivalled entrepreneurial spirit that meant their joke shop, Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, was nothing but a big success. Even when Voldemort returned to power, and the shops of [Diagon Alley](/fact-file/locations/diagon-alley) were slowly being abandoned, they stood strong – giving everybody the laugh they needed with their whimsical products.

Then there are the careers that come from talents that certain witches and wizards are born with – the Seers, Legilimens and Metamorphmagi. Whilst some of these abilities are also able to be learned to some degree, those who naturally possess them don’t need to worry about practice or completing an exam to prove their skills. We reckon that having the gift of the ‘Inner Eye’ would be enough to land you a Divination teaching job and a couple of book deals by itself!

And don’t get us started on [Quidditch](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/quidditch)… You don’t need an Outstanding N.E.W.T. in History of Magic to become the best Seeker seen in generations!

Ultimately, exams have a very important place in wizarding society – from measuring progress to determining your future career. Yet, there are alternatives, and you can make a life for yourself without them. There are many different paths through the wizarding world and if we were to leave you with one final thought… don’t ever underestimate the value of life experience.

## Compulsory subjects 
All students were expected to take these seven compulsory subjects from their first year to at least fifth year.

[__Transfiguration__](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/transfiguration)

This lesson covered the complex and often difficult art of transforming one thing into another – such as a hedgehog into a pin cushion or turning a desk into a pig. Taught by the formidable Professor McGonagall, it was not a subject for those afraid of hard work as it involved lots of practice and tricky wand movement. 

__Charms__
<br>
Taught by the Head of Ravenclaw, Filius Flitwick, this magical subject was both practical and unpredictable – there was once a tapdancing pineapple but that’s all we’ll say on that. Anyway, [Charms](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/charms) is the art of adding or changing something about an object or individual without altering its true nature. For example, with a swish and flick and a *correctly* pronounced *Wingardium Leviosa*, you can levitate objects.

[__Potions__](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/potions)

In this lesson, students learned how to understand and use magical ingredients to correctly brew potions, creating anything from a Cure for Boils to a Babbling Beverage. However, despite the step-by-step recipes, this class was rather tricky requiring patience, diligence and a teacher who was probably a lot more supportive than Severus Snape. Understandably, this was the subject that Harry least looked forward to… though things did improve when Horace Slughorn took the reins.

[__Defence Against the Dark Arts__](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/defence-against-the-dark-arts)

In a world where Dark wizards and magic pop up more frequently than desired, you can see why a subject that centres on how to defend yourself against all aspects of the Dark Arts is compulsory. Unsurprisingly, Harry Potter had a natural flair for this subject – despite the fact that every year brought a new teacher with their own (often… interesting) teaching style.

__Herbology__
<br>
This subject appealed to the green-fingered students of Hogwarts as it centred on the study of magical plants and their properties. Taking place in the greenhouses, that were bursting with plants ranging from screaming Mandrakes to pus-filled Bubotubers, these lessons were taught by the Head of Hufflepuff, Professor Sprout. She was the one who sowed the seeds of Neville Longbottom’s love for this subject.

__Astronomy__
<br>
If you were to look at the top of the Hogwarts Astronomy Tower one starry night, you would most likely spot students in the middle of their, you guessed it, Astronomy lesson. Taught by Professor Sinistra (who wasn’t as sinister as her name suggests), this subject centres on the study of stars, planets and moons. 

__History of Magic__
<br>
Often considered the *most* boring subject at Hogwarts, History of Magic covered wizarding history – from Goblin rebellions to the implementation of The International Statute of Secrecy. Interestingly, it was not taught by a living teacher but rather a ghost, Professor Binns. It is rumoured that one day he rose from his chair in the Hogwarts staffroom to teach his class and simply left his body behind.

## First year subjects

__Flying__
<br>
All students were required to learn how to (or at least attempt to) fly a broom in their first year at Hogwarts. Taught by Madam Hooch, who had bright yellow eyes like a Hawk, it was the one subject that Hermione Granger didn’t take to easily… though her first lesson went better than Neville’s!

## Optional subjects
At the end of their second year, students had to pick a minimum of two of these subjects to take in addition to the compulsory ones… obviously Hermione took them all.

__Arithmancy__
<br>
This was Hermione Granger’s favourite subject… though we do not know much about it. We know that it was taught by Professor Vector, that it involved investigating the magical properties of numbers and that you needed to take this subject if you ever wanted to pursue a career as a Curse-Breaker at [Gringotts](/fact-file/locations/gringotts).

__Muggle Studies__
<br>
Taught by Charity Burbage, Muggle Studies does what it says on the tin… It was the study of the daily life of Muggles with a specific emphasis on how they used tools like science and technology in place of magic. Some considered it a soft option, but it was a subject beloved by rubber-duck-enthusiast, Arthur Weasley. 

__Divination__
<br>
Now we have Hermione Granger’s *least* favourite subject, Divination. This was taught by the clairvoyantly-challenged Professor Trelawney (who loved to insist that Harry was doomed to die a terrible death every five minutes) and later [Firenze](/fact-file/characters-and-pets/firenze) – who happened to be a centaur. Though often considered rather ‘woolly’, this subject centred on predicting the future using methods such as reading tealeaves, palmistry and gazing into crystal balls.

__The Study of Ancient Runes__
<br>
This is another lesson that we heard about but never witnessed. According to J.K. Rowling, it was taught by Professor Bathsheda Babbling. Taking this subject involved studying Ancient Runes and decoding their meanings – which sounds rather tricky to us!

__Care of Magical Creatures__
<br>
One of the most practical subjects, this was the study of magical creatures, their behaviours, needs and habitats. As it was taught outside in the Hogwarts grounds, students were often able to get up close and personal with the creatures – whether that was a [Niffler](/fact-file/creatures/niffler), unicorn or even a humble Flobberworm. During Harry’s time at school, he was mainly taught by Rubeus Hagrid who had a fun, if unorthodox, teaching style. 

## Additional optional subjects

__Alchemy__
<br>
According to J.K. Rowling very specialised subjects, such as Alchemy, were offered to students in their final two years at Hogwarts if there was sufficient demand. In the Muggle world, Alchemy was a medieval science focused on the process of transforming base metals into gold, the search for a universal cure for disease and figuring out ways to extend life… we can safely assume that this subject covered similar matters.

__Apparition__
<br>
Apparition lessons took place in sixth year and were for those students who wanted to take the Apparation exam once they turned 17. It was not a lesson without some risk as it focused on how transport yourself from one location to another using magic. If you were to lose your concentration you could accidentally (and rather gruesomely) leave part of your body behind – otherwise known as ‘Splinching’. It is no wonder that young witches and wizards had lessons in a controlled environment first. Normally, nobody can Apparate in or out of the Hogwarts grounds, but special dispensation was given for these lessons.

## Exams

__End of year exams__
<br>
All students, except those undergoing their O.W.L.s or N.E.W.T.s, take end of year exams during the Hogwarts summer term. Often comprising of both practical and written elements, each subject sets their own test. Occasionally, they have been known to cancelled for very *special* reasons – much to the disappointment of the extremely brainy Hermione Granger (who once got 112% in her Charms exam don’t-you-know).

__O.W.L. exams__
<br>
In their fifth year at Hogwarts, all students are required to take their [O.W.L.](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/o-w-l-s) exams aka the Ordinary Wizarding Levels. Though these are far from ordinary… each involve a practical and written test for every subject. All students take the O.W.L. exam for both their compulsory subjects and chosen optional subjects. In order to pass students must achieve an Outstanding (O), Exceeds Expectations (E) or Acceptable (A) grade. Poor (P), Dreadful (D), and Troll (T) were failing grades. The results of these exams determined the subjects a student could take at N.E.W.T level and could even impact employment options.

__N.E.W.T. exams__

The Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests, otherwise known as [N.E.W.T.s](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/n-e-w-t-s) were taken by students in their seventh and final year at Hogwarts. Known to be, well, nasty and exhausting, they weren’t for the faint-hearted. The results of these exams determined the different career paths a student could take after leaving school. Fun fact! If you wanted to be an Auror, not only would you have to achieve *five* N.E.W.T.s but they would all have to be grades of either Outstanding (O) or Exceeds Expectations (E) – better get studying!

## 1.	How did it feel to be asked to redesign the Harry Potter covers?

When [the publishers] confirmed it, I found it hard to believe. Only when I was already on my way home did I suddenly realise the full magnitude of the project, and I have to say that I was deeply moved. I felt very fortunate to be able to contribute my small grain of sand to this incredible magical world that continues to fascinate so many people. It was a true privilege for me and a magical connection to something I had carried deep within for years.

## 2.	Did you draw inspiration from anywhere in particular?

Fortunately, my children have always been a source of inspiration. When drawing Harry, I felt I needed to dive into how magic feels for the first time through the eyes of a boy. My children have helped me not only to find inspiration but also have become my most beautiful connection to magic. They help me maintain that magical perspective.

## 3.	How did you decide what to include in your illustrations?

I was certain that, besides the main characters, certain iconic elements of the series needed to be present as if they were characters themselves, such as the [Hogwarts Express](https://www.wizardingworld.com/fact-file/magical-miscellany/hogwarts-express). I believe it is a very rich world, and that each element and character has a story behind it. That is why each scene makes me pay close attention to all the elements.

## 4.	What do you think the new covers say about the stories?

I hope that both longtime readers and new ones can see how the setting and magic are very present on the covers. But above all, I love being able to reflect the personality and depth of each character, as if each one were part of an independent story.

## 5.	What was your favourite part of the design process?

The composition and the choice of elements. Visually, there is a narration and a sense of reading that accompanies you every time you look at it. I also greatly enjoy the colour and the light, which I believe is the part that creates that special magic.

## 6.	Is there a cover that you are especially proud of?

*Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone* is the one I hold most dear since it was my first contact with the initial vision of the characters. I felt very proud when I saw it in my hands for the first time. In any case, they all hold something special for me.

## 7.	How would you describe your illustrative style?

I try to convey the magic that captivated me as a child through my style, using colour, light, and atmosphere, and aiming for my characters to be expressive and show complexities beyond just a beautiful drawing. I have always loved comics, fantasy worlds, science fiction movies and music. I believe that all artists develop their style through that inner universe we create from a young age with our experiences and tastes.

## 8.	Are there any tiny details you hope fans will spot?

I have put a lot of effort into trying to be as faithful to the story as possible, reviewing every detail with the editors to ensure everything made sense. I believe that working on a project of this magnitude allows you to gather a lot of information to apply later. I hope all of this is reflected in the illustrations.

## 9.	What was the biggest challenge you faced when coming up with your fantastic designs?

The evolution of the characters, while maintaining their essence. They all have a very well-constructed development, and capturing all those nuances in each book has been a great challenge but also something wonderful, as it makes you feel very close to them. Like part of their family.

## 10.	Did your original vision of how the covers should look change whilst creating them?

Of course, the creation of the covers has been a very organic process, always referring back to the book to see how I could condense the most important parts. It's an intensive job closely aligned with the editors, which is why it evolves until it takes on the final form that reaches everyone.

## 11. Which Hogwarts house do you belong to?

I love this part because I've always been clear about it. I belong to [Hufflepuff.](https://www.wizardingworld.com/fact-file/magical-miscellany/hufflepuff)

## 12.	Do you have a favourite character from the stories?

[Hermione](https://www.wizardingworld.com/fact-file/characters-and-pets/hermione-granger). I believe she has a strength and a significant presence throughout all the books. She represents what you can achieve through effort and your talents. I firmly believe in her role throughout the saga and how she is key in the most important moments that happen around the magical world. Finally, her evolution and depth make her a role model character for me.

In Harry Potter’s world, there’s Divination, Astronomy and prophecies – all used to make sense of the mysteries of the universe and the great beyond. But what about astrology? According to astrologers, Geminis are governed by the planet Mercury, which means communication is key to this sign. Specifically, Geminis are known to have the gift of the gab. They can be charming, they love a good gossip and are known to be quick-witted. In fact, out of all the zodiac signs, you’d be inclined to think that theirs is the mind that moves the fastest.

He came up with some incredible zingers during his time at Hogwarts. However, sometimes a Gemini’s quick wit can turn into a sharp tongue, Malfoy certainly fell into this trap. His barbs were nearly always unkind. Like the time he insulted Ron’s dress robes. Saying they were fashionable in about 1890? Funny but mean. Or when he told [Goyle](/fact-file/characters-and-pets/gregory-goyle) that if he was any slower, he would be going backwards? Inspired but cruel. But one thing is certain, Malfoy had a way with words.
