Scorpio (23rd October – 21st November)
We wouldn’t recommend crossing a Scorpio. Ruled by Pluto and Mars (the god of the Underworld and the god of War), they do not take kindly to those who have wronged them… and we wouldn’t count on earning their forgiveness. Yet, hidden behind their hard exterior is a person who feels everything intensely, is fiercely protective and will go to extraordinary lengths for those they love. This Sirius quote captures the multifaceted Scorpio brilliantly – his justified anger towards Peter coupled with his desire to fight for others. You could always count on Sirius to have your back.
Sagittarius (22nd November – 21st December)
Bold, fiery and with an excellent sense of humour, it’s apt that this zodiac sign is represented by the archer – their quickfire quips never miss. This zinger from Sirius perfectly matches that Sagittarian energy. In the midst of a rather trying evening, full of life-changing revelations and intense emotions, he was still ready with a cutting clapback. Sagittarians are not afraid to be blunt in their quest for the truth – it seems it was the same for Sirius too.
Capricorn (22nd December – 19th January)
The spontaneous Sirius might not appear to have much in common with the zodiac sign known for its responsibility and discipline… but we disagree. You see, Capricorns are known for their ambition and are not afraid to set long term goals. Combine that with their desire for security and stability and you’ll find this quote to be an excellent reflection of their personality. Sirius might have been impulsive, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t have his own dream – one where he could give Harry a safe, loving and permanent home.
Aquarius (20th January 20 – 18th February)
Sirius’ playful retort to this quip about his state of mind gives us extremely Aquarius vibes. Known for their eccentricity, Aquarians are creative innovators who march to the beat of their own drum. The narrowminded might think that those with this zodiac sign are weird, but they just don’t understand their uniqueness. Like Sirius and Lupin, who were both brilliant yet mysterious, your weirdness is what makes you wonderful and you own that.
Pisces (19th February – 20th March)
This heart wrenching moment in Prisoner of Azkaban revealed the true depths of Sirius’ caring nature. Despite Lupin’s lupine transformation being inevitable, Sirius still tried to help his friend – using love and kindness to try to get through to him. If you’re a Pisces, we think this is rather reminiscent of you too. Ruled by Neptune, Pisces are loyal to their core and deeply empathetic. Their instinctual kindness and belief in others is their true strength.
Aries (21st March – 19th April)
We reckon this Sirius quote is already the Aries mantra – this fire sign is always fired up and ready to leap into the unknown. They don’t sit around endlessly thinking and fretting over a decision – they just do it. From becoming an Animagus to breaking out of Azkaban, the same could be said for Sirius. Yes, he probably could be described as a little reckless, but he was never afraid of a challenge… neither are you.
Taurus (20th April – 20th May)
Sirius was doggedly loyal to those he loved. Long after James and Lily were gone, he remained committed to the part of themselves they left behind – Harry. You see, there was nothing, not even death, that could get in the way of his devotion. His friends were everything to him. As a Taurus, we think it’s the same for you. On the whole, you’re more patient than Sirius, but you recognise yourself in this statement and it resonates with you. Reliable, kind and trustworthy – there’s no better friend than a Taurus.
Gemini (21st May – 20th June)
Nothing can rival the insatiable curiosity of a Gemini. Quick-witted, playful and a little bit unpredictable – they’re interested in everything and are not afraid to make bold moves. That reminds us of a couple of young Marauders whose mix of mischievousness and intellect saw them become underage Animagi, create the Marauder’s Map… and land in detention on more than one occasion. However, just because you sometimes find yourself in hot water, it doesn’t mean you’re not extremely lovable. Yes, you’re spontaneous and spirited but you’re also affectionate and able to adapt to any situation – a true social butterfly.
Cancer (21st June – 22nd July)
Out of everything that Sirius said, to us, this shows the true depth of his empathy. He understood that people are complex and the world is not just black and white. Everybody has a choice to make about who they want to be, and it isn’t always easy. If you have this intuitive star sign, we think that this quote captures your energy. You have the brilliant ability to see things from another person’s perspective – even when you don’t agree. You like to approach all situations with compassion and understanding.
Leo (23rd July – 22nd August)
A dynamic fire sign represented by the fearless lion – we couldn’t think of a better quote to match the Leo vibe. Vivacious, full of life and always centre stage, Leo’s can’t abide hanging around in the shadows and want to be right in the middle of the drama. Sirius had this fire in him too. Sitting at home, safe and sound, was his idea of agony… but taking part in an adrenaline-fuelled adventure? One where he preferably defeats his foe in a heroic way? That’s more like it.
Virgo (23rd August – 22nd September)
There is nothing that gets past a Virgo. Meticulous, intelligent and with the ability to spot the smallest detail, their critical thinking is unparalleled. Like Sirius, they are a shrewd judge of character and can quickly get the measure of a person. However, that is not to say they are cold. They are driven by a desire to help and will not stand idly by while others are treated poorly. Like Harry’s godfather, who battled Dark magic as a member of the Order of the Phoenix, they want to be part of the solution and not the problem.
Libra (23rd September – 22nd October)
This extremely wise and measured piece of advice that Sirius gave to Harry is definitely something we think a Libra would say. Represented by the scales, this star sign is all about balance and harmony. They have a deep desire for justice and bringing a sense of peace and stability to those around them. In this moment, this is exactly what Sirius did – as he knew Harry’s all-or-nothing thinking would only cause him pain. So, he helped him to see things from a new perspective, bringing Harry back to a more grounded and balanced state.
