Our wizarding world family is getting larger by the day. 

We can now confirm a new slew of fantastic talent confirmed for the HBO Original Harry Potter series, from witches and wizards to a couple of Muggles! 

Molly Weasley will be played by BAFTA winner Katherine Parkinson, while Draco and Lucius Malfoy will be played by Lox Pratt and Johnny Flynn respectively. 

Joining the cast of Hogwarts students are Leo Earley, who will play Seamus Finnigan, while Alessia Leoni takes on fellow Gryffindor housemate, Parvati Patil. Sienna Moosah will play Parvati’s best friend, Lavender Brown.

Bel Powley has been cast as Petunia Dursley with BAFTA winner Daniel Rigby joining her as Vernon Dursley. 

And finally, we have a new Minister for Magic! Double Olivier and Tony Award winning performer Bertie Carvel will be portraying Cornelius Fudge.

These latest casting announcements [are in good company](https://www.harrypotter.com/features/everything-we-know-about-the-harry-potter-tv-series-so-far), joining the likes of John Lithgow (Albus Dumbledore), Janet McTeer (Minerva McGonagall), Paapa Essiedu (Severus Snape), Nick Frost (Rubeus Hagrid), Luke Thallon (Quirinus Quirrell) and Paul Whitehouse (Argus Filch). 

Recently, we announced [the main trio’s casting too](https://www.harrypotter.com/news/harry-ron-and-hermione-casting-revealed-for-harry-potter-hbo-original-series): Dominic McLaughlin plays Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton is Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley will be played by Alastair Stout.

New Harry Potter Shops to open in Tokyo, Japan

Konichiwa, Harry Potter fans of Japan! 

A new shopping experience, Harry Potter Shop Harajuku, is opening in Tokyo in August 2025, full of wizarding world merchandise to cast a spell on you.

Located in one of the world’s most iconic shopping districts of Tokyo — a centre of culture, fashion, and trends — the flagship store promises to bring all the magic to Harry Potter fans visiting.

Located along the historic tree-lined path that extends from Yoyogi Park, the shop features an interior inspired by the [Forbidden Forest](https://www.harrypotter.com/fact-file/locations/the-forbidden-forest) – so fans will feel like they are traversing the mysterious woodlands that lie on the outskirts of Hogwarts. Don't worry - we doubt you'll bump into any pesky Acromantula.

And that's not all. The Mahou-Dokoro Akasaka Wizarding World Street store, which is set to close on Sunday 29th June, will reopen on Thursday 17th July as Harry Potter Shop Akasaka - so fans based in this area will also get a chance to partake in a bewitching shopping spree.

It has been a particularly spellbinding season for Japan-based Harry Potter fans as of late. These two shops follow the launch of [Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter](https://www.harrypotter.com/discover-experiences/experiences/warner-bros-studio-tour-tokyo-the-making-of-harry-potter) in June 2023 and the launch of the official online shop [Harry Potter Shop Online Japan in July 2024](https://harrypottershop.jp/). Meanwhile, the play, *Harry Potter and the Cursed Child* has a Japanese production at the [TBS Akasaka ACT Theater](https://www.harrypotter-stage.jp/en/), with tickets currently available up to October 2025. Hey, if you're in Akasaka already, you could make a full magical day of it! 

So, keep an eye out this summer for more magic on the high streets of Japan. If only we had some Floo Powder so we could hop over to visit.

Celebrate Butterbeer Season this spring

In the Harry Potter books, Harry's first experience of Butterbeer is famously exquisite.

Harry drank deeply. It was the most delicious thing he’d ever tasted and seemed to heat every bit of him from the inside.

And from the moment we read about it in the books, fans around the world were left curious about this comforting concoction.

The iconic drink, reminiscent of butterscotch with hints of shortbread, was brought to life in 2010 when The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened at Universal Orlando Resort, quickly followed by the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, introducing fans to that unique, comforting flavour now available to be tasted at official experience locations around the world. In fact, Butterbeer has become so beloved, fans can enjoy a whole season of it, starting now, through to the end of April.

Here's a little taster of what to expect.

## Pick up our new Butterbeer pin at the Harry Potter shop

To celebrate the season, a little tankard of Butterbeer is soon to be available as an adorable pin - you can even get it in a bundle with other goodies. Coming 15th March for UK visitors, keep an eye on the Harry Potter shop to find it. US visitors, stay tuned to learn when this will be available to you.

## Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood to introduce limited-edition treats

Universal Studios theme parks (in Hollywood and in Orlando) have created an array of Butterbeer-themed treats to properly commemorate the season. Look out for a Butterbeer ice lolly coming soon - and at Universal Orlando Resort only - Butterbeer caramels will also be available for peckish visitors.

## New ice cream counter coming to Universal Studios Hollywood’s The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

We know Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour all too well from the Harry Potter books, and now, fans in Los Angeles can get a taste! Universal Studios Hollywood announced a Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream counter is coming to Honeydukes - and Butterbeer ice cream will be on the menu! Opening on Friday, 29th March, the all-new venue will feature 10 decadent and savoury soft-serve ice cream flavours, including Butterbeer, Banana, Chocolate, Mint, Orange, Vanilla, Toffee Nut, Granny Smith Apple, Pistachio and Toffee Apple.

## Warner Bros. Studio Tour London to serve new Butterbeer desserts

From Butterbeer lattes to Butterbeer pancakes, the Studio Tour in London is going Butterbeer-bananas! Alongside the Backlot café's traditional souvenir tankard, guests will be able to get this served with Butterbeer ice cream (in a souvenir dish) and even a Butterbeer cupcake alongside, all on a bespoke tray.

Also watch out for Butterbeer pancakes, Butterbeer Blondies and even a Butterbeer latte in the Frog Café.

## Butterbeer Muffins introduced at Harry Potter New York

Visitors of  Harry Potter New York will get a unique opportunity at the Butterbeer Bar to be one of the first to taste the brand new Butterbeer Muffin. This delicious new baked good joins the ranks of Harry Potter New York’s iconic Butterbeer offering, which includes the classic drink in both Draft and Bottled versions (with the latter available in MinaLima’s original style, alongside an exclusive MACUSA version), together with tempting ice-cream. 

## A friendly Butterbeer truck will be driving around the states

An exciting Butterbeer truck will be roaming around a few US states bringing delicious joy to those lucky ones who discover it.  

Get ready to learn more about the Butterbeer truck soon, which will have special giveaways, including Butterbeer-branded totes and other treats.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London is inviting us all to "Return to Azkaban" from 1st May, promising a fresh selection of props, costumes and sets all dedicated to the beloved third instalment of the Harry Potter series. 

The biggest addition will be a first-time instalment of Professor Trelawney's Divination classroom, complete with velvet pouffes, patterned rugs and a tower made of 500 vintage teacups. (Well, we know Sybill loves her tea leaves!) 

Beyond the Divination classroom, fans will be able to discover the interior of the famous triple-decker Knight Bus, as a full cross-section of the set will be displayed. Be amazed at the Knight Bus in action as the set rattles the beds, just as they did when bus driver Ernie made his bumpy ride with Harry through London. 

Of course, the third Harry Potter story also gave us our favourite Defence Against the Dark Arts professor (not that it was a tough contest) in Professor Lupin. To pay homage, the Studio Tour will reveal a new section of the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom on display, complete with the Art Nouveau-style Boggart wardrobe and that sinister Boggart jack-in-the-box. We hope you've been practising "Riddikulus"!

Other highlights of Return to Azkaban include stepping foot into the magnificent Great Hall under an enchanted ceiling filled with over 100 floating candles, before being regaled by the Hogwarts Frog Choir and seeing The Monster Book of Monsters go on a rampage in Harry’s room at the Leaky Cauldron. Sounds like a perfect day out!

We've all been rooting for you - and look how you've grown! While Herbology is perhaps not seen as one of the more glamorous of Hogwarts lessons (juicing Snargaluff Pods sounds like an extremely humbling activity) you are clearly a green-fingered bunch, harvesting over 1 billion plants across the past 12 months collectively. As you've learnt, plant growing is super important for your progress in Hogwarts Legacy, be it for brewing better potions or even using them as weapons!
